Traveling In Style

Updated: Aug 14

It’s summer, so that means many of us will be hitting the road - or the skies - in pursuit of our seasonal adventures. I’ve done my fair share of air travel, so today I will impart upon you my pearls of wisdom for fashionably effortless commuting.

Luggage tags. While there are lots of different types of luggage out there, I realized while waiting at the carousel that in the end, they all end up looking alike. At the end of the day, it seems as though everybody has the same three or four styles of luggage. And at the end of your trip, the last thing you want to do is stand there, trying to figure out which one is yours. I found these adorable luggage tags on Amazon that not only make your bags easy to identify, but are super adorable and well made. They feature sturdy construction, attach with a strong metal ring, and come in a variety of really pretty designs. They’re also super affordable, which means you can put a little extra money into buying some local fashion! Here’s the link.

Under Armour Slides. I’m seriously obsessed with these. They’re sporty in a street style sort of way. They’re sleek, but have just enough bulk to be supportive and also look cool. They come in a ton of different colors, and UA also has some good sales every so often, so if you keep your eyes peeled, you can get them for half off like I did. Their best feature has to be their comfort. It’s like walking on a cloud. There is literally memory foam in the soles, so when you slide your feet in them and start walking, it is the most comfortable experience, and you’ll wonder why these shoes took so long in coming into your life! So not only will they make going through the TSA line much easier, but you’ll look super cute and feel amazing doing it! I have the black and white pair, and wear them with white socks (because hygiene - I don’t want to be barefoot in the airport) and black leggings. Check them out - you won’t be sorry! Keep in mind, the colors are listed separately on their website.

Dress in layers. It may be summer, but on on the airplane, winter is coming. I don’t know if it’s just me, but when I get on the plane, it always seems like there is a steady stream of cold air wafting across me like an arctic breeze. Your tshirt or tank top may be adorable, but trust me, save them for the destination, because the plane is always chilly. My outfit iteniary is a black or white fitted tank or tee with a buffalo plaid button down over it. You could also pair it with a chic scarf to keep your chest and legs extra warm. Another cute option instead of the button down would be to tie a slouchy sweatshirt around your waist. This way, if by some miracle the flight is warm, you can peel off the button down and/or scarf or sweatshirt, look cute, and still be comfortable. But if it’s not, you’ll be fashionably cozy.

So those are my fashionable must-haves! Hope they help, and stay tuned for more!
